SILVER SPRING, Md. (WUSA9) -- A Hyattsville man was arrested Monday after police say officers found him in possession of a handgun and baggies of crack cocaine.
Ramon Ramsey, 23, was arrested for possession of a handgun and possession of crack cocaine with intent to distribute, police said.
At approximately 10:15 p.m., police say officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Piney Branch Road and Manchester Road in Silver Spring. Ramsey was as a rear seat passenger and police asked him to exit the car after he appeared to be trying to conceal something.
Police say once Ramsey started to exit the car, his shirt lifted up and officers saw a Taurus .357 caliber long-barrel handgun in his waistband. When Ramsey was placed under arrest, police say officers found individually wrapped baggies of crack cocaine in his front pants pocket.
Ramsey was ordered held without bond, police said.
