A small business seminar entitled “Is There a Business in Your Future?” will be held at the Germantown Library on May 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. The library is located at 19840 Century Blvd.
Dr. Som Karamchetty, a SCORE DC (US Service Corps of Retired Executives) mentor, will discuss factors that help lead to a successful business. The presentation will cover business risks, start-up capital, management team, market analysis, and profits and losses. A question-and-answer discussion session will follow.
As a volunteer counselor with SCORE since 2004, Dr. Karamchetty has counseled more than a thousand entrepreneurs as they start and grow their businesses. In counseling, he applies his background in government, contracting, engineering, technology, inventions, idea-to-product transition and manufacturing.
The program is co-sponsored by SCORE DC and the Germantown Library. Five SCORE counselors provide counseling, one day each, at Rockville Memorial Library.
To request a sign language, oral, or cued speech interpreter (five work days notice requested) or other accommodations for the program, email MCPL.DeafAccess@montgomerycountymd.gov. The library’s meeting room is equipped with an audio induction loop system for persons who use hearing aid amplification with a telecoil switch or cochlear implants.
Library customers can register online for the program at www.montgomerycountymd.gov/library, then go to Library Events Calendar.
For more information about the program, email som.karamchetty@scorevolunteer.org.
