GREENBELT, Md. (WUSA9) -- A federal judge sentenced a former George Mason basketball star and successful Silver Spring nightclub owner to two years in prison for his role in a plan to distribute more than 2,000 pounds of marijuana.
The sentence was far less than Jason Miskiri could have received after pleading guilty to conspiring to distribute more than 1,000 kilograms of marijuana.
After the sentencing, the one-time NBA player declined to talk with WUSA9 about what took him from college basketball star, philanthropist and successful restaurant owner to a guy who was bringing in and selling millions of dollars of marijuana in his own community.
Miskiri, 40, insists dealing dope is contrary to everything he believes in.
